Sam P. Cashmore (b. 1999) is a Bristol-based artist whose work emerges from an intense dialogue with the landscape, particularly (but not limited to) the South West of England, where he grew up. His work often places romanticised views onto often overlooked and liminal spaces. His portraits attempt to illustrate the relationship between subject, the landscape, the viewer, the camera, and the photographer.

Between 2021 and 2023, Sam ran the platform and publisher Vessel Editions, which shared and published writings and works by early-career artists interested in the book form.

In January 2025, he launched his new imprint, Vase, with its first publication, When We Fall In-Between, set for release in 2025.

Alongside Sam’s personal practice and publishing endeavours, Sam also writes about photography (and other things) on his Substack

In 2024, he was Writer-in-Residence at Serchia Gallery.
